If you know Tosh well, you’ll understand his COMMITMENT TO FITNESS. He's always led an active lifestyle and his comfort zone is found in athletic activities such as track and field and football. He believes in STRONG, CONFIDENT, INJURY FREE movement at the speed of LIFE and is passionate about helping people of all fitness levels (soccer moms to pro-level athletes) achieve their goals.
Tosh Johnson was born in Toronto, Ontario and began his athletic journey playing basketball on the merciless concrete courts at the tender age of seven. At the age of 13 Tosh attended and participated in his first football try-outs and in his very first season he scored 33 touchdowns in 12 games. He quit basketball and focused his training on football, from there he went on to rack up 12 years experience which included the high school and collegiate levels. Tosh also ran and trained in Track and Field for five years and had the pleasure to train with Team Canada sprinter, Sherraine Pencil and Team Canada hurdler Felicia George. Unfortunately, at the age of 20 Tosh acquired a devastating knee injury that forced him to quit the dream of becoming a professional athlete and led to him get disconnected with sports and fitness all together. From that he hit rock bottom and endured mental illness/depression due to not being able to compete anymore. He was eventually able to regain his passion in fitness and competitive sports by changing his focus from player athlete to coaching and personal training. Tosh Johnson went on to tally a total of 19 years training as an athlete, 6 years coaching senior boys football and 8 years personal training. He currently continues to focus in advancing and developing as both coach and personal trainer.
Working with a good trainer can be invaluable. Almost everyday I see people exercising with horrible form doing the same thing over and over with little to no results. All it would take is one session to show them a safer way to train, a better intensity to train at and more efficient ways of getting the job done to see big changes.
Over the past 7 years I’ve developed a very systematic approach to the way I train. All new clients are assessed to determine their goals, current levels of cardiovascular strength, muscle strength, coordination and core strength. Once we have all that info I can help by offering ongoing training, custom designed programs to do on your own or I can walk you through your current program to make sure your form and intensity is where it should be.
My focus is on helping people achieve long-term results through challenging and varied workouts that involve strength training, cardiovascular work, functional training, core training and innovative stretching techniques.
